Death-Blockers: Block Death. Look Good.

Since this post wasn't as crunch heavy as last weeks (most of my time was dedicated to just making sure my assumptions got as close to RAW as possible, hence why only one post last week) I decided to have a little more fun and do more detailed write ups on the body armor I'm covering. Then I got to thinking, why not go all out so I decided to make this a a follow up to my Brand Loyalty post and themed all my armors around a fleshed out company. Hope you guys enjoy!

Death-Blocker Ltd (TL10)
Originally started a hundred years ago as Death Heads, a fashion company that catered to making outfits for preforming artists that were taking part in a death metal revival at the time. After one of their more high profiled regulars gave them a request to make them an outfit that also doubled as protective body armor, they branched out into the custom body armor market to great acclaim and changed their name Death-Blockers Ltd.. Now they are well known for their concealable body armors with an edge, though they still do fashion designs for the more "hard core" acts of the current generator, both armored and regular. A current trend with them is to excursively use a high exclusively blend of ruggedized bioplas for all of the flexible armor. While many armor producers feel it's lower resistance to fragments and slashing weapons is a detriment but Death-Blockers has stated they feel it's greater protection against energy weapons and self-healing factor more then makes up for it. Their current motto is Block Death. Look Good.

Company Type: Niche- Rugged, uses Bioplas, makes armor that looks like normal clothes.

Standard Modifiers: Rugged, Styled, Rainbow option, Buzz Fabric option.

Notes: Makes designer body armor made to pass as normal clothes. While the high profile targets (politicians, business leaders and the like) make up most of their market they do cater to the personal defense market as well. They currently prefer to use Bioplas armor.

Quickline: Death Blocker Ltd; Niche-Rugged, uses Bioplas; Makes designer body armor.

Rugged
By RAW Rugged can't be used on clothing or armor since unlike with a mechanical or electrical device which can just be swapped into a more rugged housing, the only way to double the DR of them is by making them out of  a stronger material or by doubting their thickness which in turn would double their weight. It should, however, be possible to make clothing and armor that is less likely to wear out and have a higher HT.

So I propose this variant.

Rugged (Clothes and Armor)
"Ruggedized" clothes and armor are made to withstand abuse and are made to higher tolerances or in the case of clothes or fabric based armor, tighter and heavier weaves. This gives +2 to HT and increase DR by 20%. Cost is ×1.5 and weight is ×1.2.

  1. I like the promotional pitches! I'd been looking at things like "armored" suits and uniforms for future settings as well, but I hadn't anything nearly as developed.

    1. It's not that hard to stat up new armor even if you don't have the Cutting Edge issue of Pyramid.

All ya have to do take an example of an armor type that has full body coverage in Ultra-Tech, take it's weight and divide it by 21.35 and then by the armors DR. That gives you its WM. Then you just take the suits cost and divide it by its weight and that gives you its CM.
